Its been done before, can't remember who though. Ya got to have a transfercase to go with the 6spd if your 4wd. Also got to have a new rear(and front if 4wd)driveline/s made. Unless you got a killer deal on both your just as cheap to get a over/under drive unit.

gotta get the transfer case, drivelines made, shorter dowels for the housing, clutch and hydraulics, some fab work on the floor pan and crossmember. or a body lift will avoid the floor pan work. if i got the right price on the gear id be all over it, but i love my us gear unit. ive got the dieselsite tranny coolers on mine and that helped keep the temps in check. ive seen as high as 240 with 20k behind the truck before the trannycoolers i was pushin 300.

the 6 speed tranny's dont have the extra gear for up top. it an extra low gear. if you got a 5 speed now just imagine an even lower granny than what you already have.
not worth it imho. unless you where converting from an auto. but a gear vendors unit or something else now your talking.
