If anyone is interested. New pics of my '54 Ford. The body is decent, the wiring/floor/mechanicals are garbage. Will be restored eventially as a street/strip machine with the running gear from the Galaxie and either the 390 from the Galaxie or a mighty 460.. only time will tell. Looks like a challenge already to squeeze the Galaxies 255/60/15s into the rear wells, I could barely get the 195/75/14s on there lol.
Nice ride. Needs TLC by the roof liner looks. I restored one in 91-92 for a guy. I was almost done it when I had a divorce and the car was tied up for 2 years in my garage I could not get into. I never got paid for it either. One thing to watch for on that year of car is the front body supports. They rust badly. The one I did from looking outside looked straight, but the doors would not line up. The front body supports were rusted away and they go across the floor and to the body mount up the firewall. This one has sagged an inch. Had to make the new peices and jack the car to the right height and weld them in. Doors worked great afterwards.
These cars look great on the outside, but underneath is where they rust.
The one I restored. I only had tto finish the right 1/4 and manufacture a continental kit for it. I never got to paint it. It still ran and drove on a flayhead V8 6 volt system.
Have fun and keep us posted on your build.
BTW how much coin did this cost?
Well the divorce the wife would of claimed for half and it was not worth the fight. Funny thing is that when the guy got the car back him and his wife split up. He had to sell the car, his 52 ford truck and 47 mercury coupe he had planned for me to do. That coupe was rough, but doable.
Very nice collection i like the Galaxie come to think of it i swear i saw a Galaxie like yours or maybe even yours in Lawson Heights on a street called turtle i think at least around there by Redberry road

Wow 3 memebers only 1/2 mile from each other. Now we know where we should go for these coffee meetings. So who has the most garage space to sit around in?
