I have an 04 F150 Fx4, have had numerous problems with it. The two re-occuring ones are, a slip upon accleration, the dealer has replaced the rear drive shaft a couple weeks ago (still does it). Also there is alot of excessive rattling and bed movement when encountering bumps, the dealer says that the movement is due to rubber bushings in the mounting system, it's REALLY annoying! Has anyone else had either of these problems and if so what was done to correct them?
Welcome to FTE!....
I would double check the TSBs again... 2004 F150 F/Text TSBs at least for the "Slip" on take-off
There is something referring to p/u box interference but it didn't sound like the same symptoms?!.... Has the dealer/techs shown you other trucks on the lot that the bed moves and clunks around on?
Maybe get a 2nd set of dealer/tech eyes to check out these issues you are having?
I am having a similar issue with excessive rattling from the rear of the truck. I was wondering if a bolt that holds down the bed may have come loose, so I got under the truck to look for any obvious loose bolts but couldn't find any.
Whtieba, the dealer actually said that it could be a bushing between the truck and the bed that is making this noise? did they offer any solution?
While doing a search for a completely different reason and different FTE member, I came across this thread... Its quite lengthy and it deals with the "Slip" but also a "thump/clunk"...
