Truck Pulls

I have a 2005 150 extra cab 4X4 with the 5.4 automatic.( My first Ford) I love it!!!!!!!!! I am thinking about entering ino the stock pulling class just to see what it will do. I was planning on keeping it in 4 hi and drive with the overdriv shut off. Any advise or sugestion???????

4 low, without a doubt, they dont have the torque in high when u get halfway down the trrack. in 4 low it will just about wheel hop off the ground under load and it will still spin 55 easily if u need wheel spinage if u go 4 high u are asking for trouble when u get about half track and it starts slowin down somethins gonna give!

also add weight in the box....... it will help off the line and prolly more down the track when she gets heavy

its nothing i dont do to my 105k 2000 f150 weekly if u are smart about it u will be fine, if it starts wheel hopping, stop, or you will mess some chit up

What ever you do, don't use high range. Even the improved street, superstocks and diesels run 4low, low range is your friend. I wouldn't put the weights in the bed, if you have access to any tractor weights, stack them on the passanger side floor. Since when the sled weight comes up you need more weight on the front axle. But if you must put weight in the bed put it all the way to the front on the box. If you start to hop just let off the gas alittle, the truck "should" settle down. And don't hit the brakes to stop, like i have seem some people do, or just plain let off the gas, other wise the sled will rearrange the back of your truck faster than you can blink!!!
