K code tranny
I am going to look at a 89 f250 with a 460/auto tranny and I can't find any referance to a code K. Thats what is on the door sticker under trans. I thought they had e4od's in them with a code E or were the codes changed in 1990? Anyway, I won't be able to crawl under the truck to visually look at it to identify it so can somebody tell me what a K code is?

Thanks Dustin. It is at a salvage auction I am going to tomorrow and they wont let you start them. However, this one is a runner and they drive them across theauction block. From the pictures there dosen't appear to be any damage and it is a nice looking truck. Has a 460 with the k code tranny and a 3.55 (I think) rear end. Be nice if it was the e4od. should get some pretty good milage for a 460. I'll find out tomorrow I guess. Thanks again
