I just got an 06 F-150 supercrew 2wd and was wondering if it was a good idea to put a leveling kit in the front to level it up. I asked my mechanic and he said it might be a bad idea. will this hurt my front end? is it worth it? I just want to make my truck look nice and don't want to jack it up since it's just a 2wd.
I was also thinking of getting exhaust for it, I want something that sounds good, but not too loud, I kinda enjoy the quietness sometimes. any suggestions??
I got a flowmaster on a 02 supercrew with the 5.4 motor. Don't know if it's a 2 or 3 chamber but it sounds good when you give it some gas but it's not loud. Even idling in the morning you can't even hear it much. It still has all the emission stuff with the 2 into one pipe too. Maybe someone knows the differance between the two size why???

thanks,
Did your mechanic state why its a bad idea? I've had mine done now for about 5,000 miles and have not had a single issue. Rides the same, turns the same, but looks a million times better.
If your looking at just a leveling kit there should be no issue.
As for the exhaust, a flowmaster 50 series would do you nicely.

he said it might hurt the front end. he told me to ask other people with it and see what they thought. any suggestions on a good leveling kit?
I recommend the autospring leveling kit (click here for the 2" or here for the 2.5") and I installed it myself. Simple to do, took about 2.5 hours without any special tools required, and all I needed afterwards was a toe-in front alignment.
There are many trucks on this forum running the autospring and I have not read a single complaint yet.
I need to go the opposite direction. I would like to drop the back end to match the front. This would probably give me better handling as well as improved vision while backing. Any ideas?

New guy here!
I just installed the Ground Force kit to lower the back. Now it looks right!

I have had my leveling kit on my 04 super crew 2wd for 50,000 miles and have not had a single problem. The only thing you need to do after you put the leveling kit on is go and get an alignment.
I am pretty sure a 2.5" but don't quote me on that.
I have 06' Screw 4x4 FX4 with 150"WB. I put the 2" Autospring kit on. You can view in my gallery. The 2.5" will completely level the truck but if you put any weight in the rear end or hook up a trailer that sags the rear at all your front end will be higher. With the 2" I had a 3000lb boat hooked up and it rode completely level.

Yeah I have the 2.5" and tow a 3800lb boat and it sags a little.
