How in the world do you remove the front cab body mounts and the front core support mounts?? I know the rear cab mounts are a two piece design and the just pull apart and it looks like the front cab mounts are the same but I cannot get them separate to save my life! If I knew aftermarket ones didn't reuse the metal cups (or whatever they're called) I'd just cut them off.
Also, which do you guys this is better as far as looks go and protection? Powder coating the frame and its compontents or using an undercoating paint?
Powdercoating will last longer. Undercoating, is prone to holding water, its a asphalt based product, and if you get a gouge or scrape in it, its going to let moisture in behind it allowing the frame to rust, hidden from view until the undercoat starts peeling off.
The Front Cab Mounts (rubbers) are two peices, they are held in place with a Single bolt, that runs up thru the middle. To access the Head of the bolt, you have to remove the little door in the cab mount and put your wrench inside use a impact on the nut on the bottom. REUSE or replace (lmc sells replacements) this bottom nut and washer. Its much thicker than a Washer, and thereby Stronger too. This is the same for all of the mounts, the ones in the cab, are accessed by removing the plugs in the floor, near the rear of the cab.
ok, I think you guys answered my question. I've had the body off of the frame. I just couldn't, or cannot, get the mounts off of the frame but seems as how LMC and other companies sell replacements I think I'm just going to cut them off and be done with it.
