Bit by the rebate bug!
Be kind to me the rebates made me do it. I am bringing my new baby home tomorrow. 06 F350 supercab long bed Fx4. Now the kicker it's a PSD 5 speed auto. So you all won't be hearing from me as much now. Wish you guys all the best and I will never have a bad word about a V10.

Man! I tried out a new '06 diesel F350 FX4 and was very umimpressed with it's performance, noise, and especially cash boot trade price. Needless to say the trade in bug got squashed! My '05 V-10 looks even better to me now.
What year, kind of options, trans, rear gearing did you have on your V-10 trade in? That diesel I tried out was a noisey pig compared to my V-10 powered rig. Maybe they need to break in before the acceleration comes on.

I had a 03 F350 reg cab V10 4speed 3.37ls. I have to say I have only driven 1 other 6.0 and it was a 03 and it was night and day difference. I do believe this 6.0 could hang right in with my v10. you bet ya it's is more noisey then the the V10 but it about the same noise level as my mud terrain tires so I live with it.

At least it is a Ford SuperDuty ...so I sincerely wish you years and years of trouble free truckin!! Nothing wrong with owning a PSD if you know all the issues and are willing to devote the effort to keeping it happy... no doubt you will enjoy your new truck.
Once she is all broke in drop down from time to time and give us an update on your impressions.... as a former V10 owner, we hope you can be candid and frank with your comparison

Fred I would have been in a new V10 but around here it seems that they are built on mars and beemed down at night.they just don't exist, discounts now made this cheaper then ordering a 07 V10. I hope the bugs have been worked out or atleast that I got a truck made mid week. Maint. is no problem just take a bit longer and little more green from my wallet. I will be glad to drop in and give you a unbiased opinion good, bad or other wise and after 3 years with old faithful I may still have something to add here.

Made my last 5 grand run this morning. going to miss taking her out and letting her eat thru the gears.

before i bought my 06 i tested an 05 f250 6.0 automatic reg cab jus tlike my current truck....i was thouroughly unimpressed....especially compared to the 7.3 in our 03 cab and chassis 4x4 f-350 6 speed
