Sea Foam question..

Have any of you guys used SeaFoam on your engines? Does it do a good job of clearing out gunk and other crud from the throttle body and engine? What is the best way to use this stuff.... I might give it a try to smooth out my idle on my 92 F-150 302EFI motor.

I haven't used it but read somewhere that with high mileage engines it may clean it too good. You may end up removing stuff that is keeping your rings a nd seals good.

i run it through my inline 6 my geo and all my snowmobiles and it does a good job of cleaning where the fuel goes. Its not a replacement of pulling stuff apart and cleaning it but i swear by it. In my truck i add about 1/3 can in then fill the tank.

I suck a full can through the brake booster vaccumn line. Suck it all in, shut it down, and let 'er sit for about 30 minutes...

Then fire it back up, and let the smoke roll!

Mine has over 158k on it... Works fine for me!

Motor runs smoother everytime!

If you're worried about it, follow the directions on the can. If it breaks, they'll have to fix it.

Don't know about the power, but I do notice a SLIGHT decrease in fuel consumption.

Always a plus...

I would assume if your injectors and all are REALLY dirty, you'd have to notice something. But as far as myself, I've not noticed a power increase...

I wouldn't use much, if any, in the crankcase...

Every 6 months or so, I suck half a can through the brake line, shut the engine down, wait 20 minutes or so. Restart the engine and smoke the neighborhood out for about 5 minutes. And that does it.
I wouldn't suggest putting the stuff in your crankcase. Gas tank is okay. If you're trying to clean out your crankcase, I have used AutoRX in the past with good results, but that's about it. I quit adding stuff to my oil, but used to use Restore, have used the 10 minute flush before, but worry about bearing damage, etc from watering down the oil. Be protective of your crankcase.

How abrasive is this stuff to an engine... Sounds pretty harmful to me?

I ONLY run it through the brake booster line with the engine running...

Never run it in the fuel tank, and never in the crankcase.

Good luck!
