On a previous thread (Is this ring blowby?) My fears were confirmed that the old 83" 351W is terminally ill. I have decided to replace it with a new long block 351W but don't want all the charcoal filters, EGR, air pump stuff associated with the one I have now. Does this sound like a good package for a daily driven truck?
Performance brand 351W stock block and heads ( autozone)
Holley street avenger 4 barrel 590cfm #080570
Edelbrock performer intake non egr #2181
Accel super coil #140001
Flowtech Headers with true duel exhaust
As well as new waterpump, oil pump, radiator.
One question I have is will I have to upgrade my stock distributer?
one question i have and others may is what are your plans for the truck as far as towing racing little of both. these things help better determin if your combo is a good one
It is used to go to work 5 days a week , 12mi one way , and to drag a 16 foot boat to the lake on weekends. Haul wood too. Basicly it is my only vehicle. I was lookin for something with a little more umph in the 0-4000 rpm range. She's got the four speed tranny with that creeper gear for 1st. Also says it has the 33 axle? with a 10 bolt rear.
Sorry about posting in the wrong place. Newbie mistake.
Actually I was going to get a set of 8mm wires but if the coil is wrong then I guess I will prob. stay stock.
I am capable of changing many things on a car/truck but two things elude me, electrical and vaccum(spl)
Thats why i asked about the combonation listed above. If an earlier 351W is stronger than my current one then I will see if I can find one in a long block. The bell housing and engine mounts wont give me any trouble, correct?
Thank you
