I have a 1963 unibody longbed. I have owned this truck for about 5 years now and am now wanting to restore it. It is in really good shape already; only rust on the tailgate and front lip of the hood. I have a few questions though.
1. The original engine is a 292, however the man that owned the truck before me changed it to a 272 because the original has a cracked head. I would like to restore this truck to original; is it necessary to install the original 292 engine or can I use any 292 from this year?
2. What is the best way to remove the body from the frame on a unibody? I imagine that rigging points are very important.
3. The original color was white. How critical is it that I keep the color original?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
