86 ford ranger 2.9 PROBLEMS
runs fine, seems to have the amount of power it should when the truck is cold, when it gets to normal operating temp, it starts to lose all power, won't rev over a certain rpm without sputtering and backfiring, most of the time if i floor it down a hill i'll lose speed
it recently started doing this, and i checked the timing, it was almost at tdc, i set it to 12 degrees base. didn't solve any problems, except it ran better cold

i took the cap and rotor off, cleaned them up. didn't solve any problems
i replaced all the plugs didn't solve any problems.
sometimes it will snap out of it, and not be SO bad (but its still down on power) but most of the time it literally will not accelerate at all.
i know these 2.9l motors are garbage, but not this bad. lol
i am planing on a 2.3t swap into this badboy but until that time comes i woul dlove to have this 2.9l run decently enough. i bought this truck for $100 and all i use it for is hauling toys.
its gotta be some electrical ****/sensor crap since it runs pretty good cold.
any help appreciated
