power locks 2000 ranger

power locks 2000 ranger
I have a 2000 ranger with powerlocks on it. they came from the factory with them. when i press the switch on either door or the remote i can hear the locks trying to work but they just wiggle nothing happens. what could i do to fix this?

Lots of people have problems with the lock units being bad. If you want to double check it, take the door panel off, and take a meter and read the voltage on the lock wires when you activate the switch. Lock will give you 12 volts, and unlock will also give you 12 volts, but with the opposite polarity.
