I think 'Western Industries Inc.' used to be the parent company, but don't hold me to it. I do believe the Chilton containers you are talking about are long gone. I haven't seen them in stores for several years and a search turns up nothing. I think they suffered the same fate as the Rubbermaid containers. Though Wedco did pick up the manufacturing of that container for a while, they were nearly impossible to find.
Wedco made them under the Briggs & Stratton label for a short time, but as I understand it they abandoned it as well. They still show it on their website and ironically have a picture of it right on their homepage. But they are long gone. Just like the Chilton.
We go through quite a few cans with our business. Once all the Rubbermaid and Chiltons were finished, we started using cans from No-spill.com . But I can't give them real high marks for a couple of reasons. When their is less than a couple of quarts in the can it requires a funny angle to pour the rest out, and that can lead to not seeing when the tank you are filling is full and is likely to spill. That's not a huge deal. But the fact that three of four have developed leaks in the exact same spot, from contracting and expanding I presume, I cannot really recommend them.
