Charcoal or Gas?

I use charcoal, its pretty expensive though. Maybe someday I'll pick up a nice gas unit. I love the taste of a charcoal fire burger though.

I think charcoal cremated food tastes better, but gas is so much more convenient.
I have gas.

Actually I had a gas grill. Gave it away and went back to charcoal. Only takes about 10 mins to start. Just not enough of an inconvenience to go back to gas. As I have a gas oven, if the weather is bad I can always use the broiler.

I have a gas grill that I use almost daily but I prefer charcoal. I do have a small charcoal though for when I can afford the "good" meat.

Bought a nice Weber gas job, brought it with us when we moved in with MIL while remodeling. She soon commented on how it "...doesn't get hot enough...". That was the last time I fired it up. I make my wife do the charcoal thing when we are over there.

Not even close....Charcoal kicks gasses ***'.
The only thing that can be as goos, or maybe better, is cooking with wood. And I'm not talking about the wood chips in a gas grill...

Right now I use charcoal. I would like a gas grill, because there is less waste and it heats up quickier.

I have both gas and charcoal grills. I gotta admit that since I bought the gas one, I use it more often because it's quicker to get going. I have a Weber kettle for the charcoal and it really is the best way to cook if I'm going to do something large and want to cook slowly..like a turkey breast or something.

Can't go wrong with a couple of mesquite logs. I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend!

If gas gets a lot more expensive, I'd consider building a gasogene and run my truck on firewood. This wasn't uncommon during WWII when gasoline was strictly rationed. There was an antique truck at a truck show a couple of years back that still had a gasogene mounted to it.

Or were you guys talking about Barbecues? Oh. Well, if propane is good enough for Hank Hill, it's good enough for me.

I'm with triton on this. Wood taste even better than charcoal. This past weekend i fired up the the grill/smoker and just started cooken. I ended up smoken some drumb sticks, chicken wings, rump roast, sauage, and boudan. then i grilled some teal raped around a japino then that raped in bacon. I also grilled me some steaks. I'm already hungry right now.

Charcoal and gas are for "city folk" If you want a real fire to cook on use wood, we use apple, cherry, or maple usually.

I've cooked a lot of meat and vegetables on gas. Pheasant, dove, beef, elk, tators, peppers, sweet corn, etc. Charcoal doesn't impress me, but to each his own.

Sounds like a heck of a menu. I hope you got full and don't get arrested for that teal. ( Sorry... I couldn't resist.) And.. what the heck's a boudan?
