I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on my 76' F-150 Highboy. I am under the understanding that when it is in 2 wheel drive mode the front driveline should not turn, correct? Well, mine keeps turning in 2 wheel drive. Any suggestions? My hubs say they are unlocked. I really have no idea, since this is my first real experience with a 4x4. Thanks,
everything will turn with the frontend disengaged its just not pulling anything to see if everything is right ( make sure the hubs and the t-case are unlocked ) just crawl under the truck and give the front driveshaft a turn by hand i do know people that have put the hubs together wrong and they work backwards
Thanks for the info guys. My friend told me that the front driveline shouldn't spin when its in 2 wheel drive mode. I'll get under there later and try and turn it by hand. Again, Thanks for the reply.
if the hubbs are unlocked and the t-c is in 2wd the fornt drive shaft should be able to be turned by hand its always easier to grease the front drive shaft than the back one because you can tuuuuuuuuuurn it
just to be clear,is your truck an f150 4x4?, or is it a f250 4x4? "hi boy",is a slang term that was given to 67-thru early 77 f250 4x4's.f150 4x4's are not called "hi boys".i agree with the others on how the front shaft should turn by hand if the t-case is in 2wd,and the front hubs are unlocked (in the "free" position).providing your truck has part time four wheel drive, not full time four wheel drive. happy 4 wheeling!!!-billy
