Hello This is my 1st post on this (or any other forum) I recently purchased a 56 F-100 site unseen out of S. Dakota and had it shipped to Florida. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. For an "original" it was in better shape than expected. My question concerns the paint code "HE" I think this represents a gray "H" body with two tone white"E". Can anyone help me with the color seperations? The truck has been painted Ford blue and I cannot tell where each color started and stopped. I intend to restore back to New Original condition.
Thanks
Bill

So, mine says "W" do I assume that's supposed to be all white?
No, "E" is white
"W" doesn't show anywhere I looked. Any chance it was a fleet-purchased truck? Like for a bakery, CocaCola, Forest Service, etc? Are you looking at the tag inside the glove box? When it's not listed, it is usually 1) a fleet-ordered color, or 2) built in a factory that didn't follow the same codes as the rest (this happens more than you'd believe!)
