A diffrent oil pan it was a carb motor and like a F600 That is all I know. That is the oil pant hat is in my 78, It looked the same
I HOPE not I have had hell with this oil pan issue and it might get worse!
Been doin a little boosin Dustin? Sippin back on grandpa's old cough medicine?
Just kiddin, I think your trying to ask if the 300's in the bigger HD trucks have a larger oil pan. I forget his screen name, I think it was TC trasnport or something, had a 300 in a F600, he might know. I've heard people say some 300's take 7 quarts instead of 6.
In order for it to be different, there must have been two different blocks for the 300. Since I've never, ever heard of that being mentioned in here before, my guess is that they're all the same.
Indeed. PFE (plain f*n' english) is the best way to get your point across. None of that hibbity bibbity jaw jumblin around here. Take your time, type it out slow, then re-read it. This may be the internet, but it is NOT some chat room, we use complete sentenses around here. Also, you can never give too much information. The more info you give, the more accurate our answers will be. I know its asking alot, but dig down deep, and I'm sure you can pull it off.

According to my Haynes book, the HD used a steel crank and valve rotators and maybe a couple of other things, but the blocks are the same. Blocks do vary a bit over the years, but the pans should fit if it clears the other vehicle obstructions like cross members, suspension and steering.
