A while back I saw an ad for an open casting call for a CBC movie they are filming by Regina. The kids and me went down, filled out a form and got our pictures taken. They phoned a couple of days ago and want us to appear as extras in 3 scenes they are filming one evening next week. They are even paying us, I would do it for free.Just wondering if anyone has any tips or thoughts on what to expect as I have never been on a movie set.
Only to : Just Listen and follow directions ..thenlet you mind work and concentrate closely on what they want you to do.
Try and stay relaxed..showing confidence but not arrogance.
Doing this will give you an opportunity to do more.
I was an extra in the original Superman movie back in my college days. We were students in the stands cheering during a football game, it took two days to shoot the scenes for the movie which last for about a minute in the movie.
My daughter actually has an agent....she hasen't done anything for us so far but she does send emails for different auditions. The auditions are always "down south" which means we drive for 4 hours there.....20 minute audition and then 4 hours back
Preppy, I was in a crowd scene, I know where we were sitting but I can't pick us out. I went with some friends from college to the shoot, and then when we went to see the movie we were a llittle disapointed. My 81 has been in a couple of corner gas shows though.
We spent about 9 hrs on the set yesterday for what will probably end up being about 10 minutes of footage.I was a background extra. It was interesting, a lot of sitting around doing nothing while they set up the camera and lighting for the next scene and then 5 or 6 takes where you do the same actions over and over.I was surprised how many of the background extras were professional actors that have done work in a variety of other projects and make a living at it.
