Ok so inorder to get my mind off of other problems Iv been having with the STEALERSHIP Iv been looking at anything I can that might give me some more information about them. Iv searched in the forums and have found some good info, but I still have a few more questions.
-Where is the best deal?
-What all comes with the kits?
-Is there anything that I need to watch for?
-Will I have any trouble passing emmisions?
-Could they cause problems with my extended warrenty?
Any other helpful comments would be great, THANKS!
Or goto ebay and search this Item number: 190013606659.
It comes with everything except for the chrome bolts and washers for the on the bed mounts. This kit comes with two types of mounts so you can choose what you like the best. Check my gallery for the on the bed mounts. Check Strokins stack picks for the in-the-bed mounts.
my 6" stacks did not fit inbetween the bed rails. i mean, they fit down in the splitter pipe, but i had to cut away some of the plastic so i could get the stacks to go vertical. even then i had all my weight pushing outwards while i held a level on them and tightened them up with an impact. now they arent moving anywhere. i paid about $545 in the end because i bought the stacks seperate from the rest of the piping. i thought i was getting stacks from a member but then i decided i didnt want 5" i wouldnt have been happy with them. good thing i did too, 6" looks perfect on my truck. buy from the place where Rampage posted, PureDieselPower is still on backorder...
The MBRP systems come totally complete from the turbo to your selection of the stack size and outlet style. Plus the MBRP ones use 304 stainless for the stock pipes so you don't have to worry about chipping and rust like will happen on a chromed stack pipe. MBRP even has an aluminum treadplate cover for the in bed splitter that look sreally great and keeps stuff from melting on the in bed splitter too!
Now the best part they are as cheap and sometimes less expensive that the "sort of all together kits" that come with chromed stack pipes. Better quality at the same or lesser price, can't beat that!!!
Mark, how much are the MRBP "smokers" stack kit? ive seen an ad in DieselPower and it said "Starting" at $1100.. is this true or do you sell them much cheaper?
see my Webshots gallery in the thread "Oh the Sound.". its pretty recent and i just replied to it. i added smokeout pics earlier today (awesome) and i am surprised hardly anyone has commented on them.
Mark with those MBRP kits should i be able to pass emisions. Unfortunitly I live in a place where there is an overwhelming concern for the environment. Are they straight through from the turbo or is there a muffler somewhere in there. Do I really need a muffler to pass emisions? After seeing strokin's stacks I REALLY, REALLY want stacks.
Oh yah, how do those go as far as warrenty. I guess I could call the warrenty company but. . .
The kits that I have seen do not have mufflers on them. But you can put one in-line. I'm sure it will void the exhaust portion of the warranty. For the water situation, I drilled a 1/8 inch hole at the lowest point of the pipe. I don't know what your states emissions to give you a good answer on that one.
Deepends on the parts you seletc but they can be less, Remember too you are getting a 100% stainless kit. The cheaper kits are aluminized under the truck and then use chromed stacks that will rust over time. The MBRP have 304 polished stainless stacks and that just costs a little more. Call us we'll price one out for you based on what pieces you want/need etc.
The muffler doesn't have any emmissions requirements related to it so you'll be OK there. If your truck had cat stock you might need that otherwise you're OK. Unless you're truck sits a lot don't worry about water as they system is stainless and any water will evaporate when you start her up.
