Hello. I will be picking up a new 2006 Superduty with a 6.0L PS. on Saturday. Trading in a 2001 SD with a 5.4L. The big question I have is, is it possible to purchase and properly install the auxillary switches in a truck that doesn't have them. I was told by a local dealer that it can't be done. However the switches can be bought but they were not sure if they can be installed. I already have the tow command in the dash and was hoping to get the switches in the dash.(Volunteer F.F. and plow snow)Really don't want to put holes in the dash for the switches. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Aaron
P.S. Very very excited for Saturday and it won't be here soon enough. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!
The upfitter switches can be added to vehicles that did not come with them. Powerstrokeshop.com, site sponsor, has the full kit available for ordering.
I had the same issue with my 2005 PSD. I wanted the brake controler, and needed to buy the 4 aux switches as well. Once you get both, they go in really quick and easy, The plugs are right behind and the whole thing only took 5 minutes - my issue was I didn't know I needed both the controller and switches. Steve A
Yup got the kit and it went in very easy. And I love it and the truck. Only trouble I had was trying to find the 2 bolts that were needed. Thought I had them at home but did not. So all I would recommend to anyone buying this is get the correct bolts.
I forgot to order the switches with the brake controller when I ordered my '06, but I put the switches in myself witht the directions from this site, and it was pretty easy.
