My brother and I are building out a system for my 06 SD F350 similar to what was in my 04 SD F250.
I did run into an issue with the ported sub box. In my 04 SD we built a ported box with 'wings' to mount the amps. The box fit perfectly behind the set. However with my 06 SD I have the power sliding window and our 36" wide box is too big. We're building it down to 33" to clear the motor for the window.
What did you do about clearance for the window motor or do you have the power slider?
You've done pretty much exactly what I want to do. I don't need the pimpin head up front (the Toughbook would block it anyway), but the amps/etc. are close and the sub box is perfect. Can you give us more details/a longer writeup of what you did and how you built all of it? Details on the sub box would be especially handy - I'm a computer geek, not a carpenter - fabricating something like that is beyond both my skill and my tools.
toyota hauler: Not a hard tweeter install, took about 1/2 hour each. Had to notch out a bit of the tweeter mount to get it to clear though.
Bear6522: That box actually fit perfect between the side and the motor (I do have the slider). I did take the seat out and had to cut the little bit that come out on the back, and also dynamated all that while i was at it.
tvsjr: Yes I can when i get some time. I was going to take pictures of everything while i was doing it but i did really take the time i just wanted to get it done so i can hear it. Also you will be glad to hear that the sub box is a stock pioneer that goes with that amp. It cost me $250 for the box and the sub at the local shop. You can go check it out on there website.

ToyotaHauler..Where did you see the ToughBook in the post...I looked and didn't see it...maybe I'm overlooking it. I have a ToughBook from work. That's about all it is.."TOUGH". They are VERY expensive. I have a JottoDesk setup in my truck that I modified to remove easily when I'm not using it.
I have the Pioneer AVIC Z1 in my F250 and am wanting to add a sub, but haven't seen an enclosure that will fit like the one you have brbsta...? The only thing I've found is the JL Stealthbox for the center console, but you lose 90 percent of the storage and it's fairly pricey at $500 not to mention a sub hitting right next to you. I've installed some FoCal 5x7's and have the JL 500.1 to install when I decide on a sub setup. I'm going for sound quality. I also installed Dynamat in the doors and was very surprised how much it took. I'll do the rest of the truck soon.

The Toughbook is the only way to go if you want something rugged. I'm running a CF-28 fully ruggedized unit with touch screen, but will likely grab a CF-29 here soon. Mine is attached to a Panasonic docking station, which is attached to a Havis Shields telescoping computer base. The base runs down to my equipment console (which holds all of my comms gear, light/siren controls, etc.) The laptop is set up with hazmat reference guides, access to the Internet via a Cingular aircard, access to the county's public safety network (soon), plume projection software, weather software, all sorts of fire/rescue/hazmat stuff.
Bear in mind, this isn't going to be cheap. These units run $5K-$8K new, plus the mounting hardware.
I also want to see pics of the base installed in your superduty truck
thanks

The only real pic I have handy is an in-build pic of the console:

You can see the base (square tube) sticking up to the forward-right corner of the console. However, I expect my build is a bit different than yours will be.
