I want to Super charge my V10, has anybody installed a twin screw unit on this engine and what problems if any did you encounter? Is the $$$ invested worth the gain?

I was able to navigate kenne bell's site and find the cost of a supercharger for the v10 wih a corrisponding chip and a (boost pump) was listed at $3950.00 not bad for extra power.
check out the whipple charger site . they make a twin screw and a few guys have them.
the v10 takes very well to adding a super charger infact it's really the best way to boost up the power level.
good luck man your going to love that truck even more after it's done
I too have been thinking about this....I am thrilled with my 2003 Cobra. Get good mileage, driveability, etc...but when you put your foot on the go pedal....now we're talkin!!
My concern is more related to transmission life...any concerns?
Matt, I assume you have an automatic trans., to my knowledge it will be no concern as the transmission cooler is very large. On my truck it is the core that is mounted at the front behind the grill ahead of the radiator.
i had one of the supper deep oil pans on my trans .it made no difference in temps so the stock on is back on it.. also if any one wants one that does not leak past the oring seal ATSDEIESEL.COMl make one that uses the stock gasket no leaks like from maghytek and bd .
What would a super charger for the v10 do for gas mileage/reliability? I don't know much about engines but have thought about getting a super charger but I'm afraid that my already poor mpg would go down even more like in the 5-6 mpg range. Obviously I know if you get on it your going to suck some gas, but what about just daily driving?
Also are their any reliability issues like adjustements and stuff like that if you go from a low elevation to 7000ft mountains?
The only adjustment you can make on a twin screw S/C is the driven pulley size. Elevation makes no difference except that with a belt driven S/C you lose 3% power just as you would with a naturally aspirated engine every 1000 ft above sea level you go. But what would you rather have? 3% less than stock or 3% less than stock+100 hp?
Too increase boost you simply change down the pulley size for for shaft speed. Not a very practical idea for on-the-go towing eh? This is where the turbo-chargers out perform a belt driven type. They can vary boost as they drive. But, try and find one made for the V10.....
Mileage doesn't change much if at all. Belle claims some customers get an increase, that is, until you romp hard on it. The down side of S/charging is you are locked in on high octane fuel usage unless you add on a Snow alcohol/water mist injector.
Thanks for the info POPS, I was hoping to get away from the high octane fuel (Super Chips programmer). I guess the old saying is true"NO Pain NO Gain".
kenne belle $ whipple's web site "claims" better gas milage, but something to remember, a SUPER CHARGER forces more air, what do you need when you get more air...............MORE GAS. it might not chage buy much, but more air means more fuel needed. if you keep your foot out of it untill you tow, it might not change much, let your foot get heavy, and say by-by to that gas needle!
heard from many people that already have them (since i was bidding on one on e-bay but lost it) that said the power is almost unbeleavable hard to belive that a 8800lb truck can break the rear tires loose at 55mph when you punch it to the floor! they said that towing was crazy.........barely tap the gas and jerk a 5th wheel off the axles, that awsome!!
good luck w/ the mod, i'm still waiting on mine! that's next on my list before ANYTHING else!!

My advise to anyone that buys a Supercharger or even people that are running with stock trannys is to purchase this FTVB. It will improve your shifts and your tranny will run cooler with less slippage.
Very interesting! Thanks! But it seems a little pricey. Since the TranGo kits work completely from within the tranny, wouldn't they be as good? They run considerably less. about $100 bucks depending on where you buy them.
The only difference is their kits are do-it-yourself. I am getting older, so maybe a drop-in already-made unit would be nice.
