Where to start
Brand new to the forums and not find anything in posts that are helping me, so Ill just ask.
First off I have a 1969 F-100 Short bed with a 429 in it. The truck isnt in bad shape overall just not taken care of. Im faced with the problem of the electrical system, something seems to be draining the battery and the when you turn the key off the truck keeps running, you have to get out and pull a wire off the starter seloid (spelling?). when it does have battery power it fires right up. I am thinking about getting a new wire harness but am once again faced with the transplanted 429 not being stock, does have the electronic ignition mod.

You have a short in the ignition sytem somewhere.
because the key won't shut the ignition power to the ingition system & because you said the battery get drained while sitting.
Do you know how to do the "How to find a short" test procedure ?
