I am not responding anymore to this thread. You guys are to funny. I just laugh when I read your posts. I really didint think we had so many Ford haters on here I guess I was wrong. Quote [Ford cars are a funk there pitiful]Quote. Thats a pretty strong statement about Ford cars isnt it. Sad very sad people have that kind off atitude.
GREAT..............maybe the nonsensical rants will stop now.
I don't think there has been one person here who claimed to hate Fords...its not our fault they're building an inferior foreign product.
But let me try and get this straight................people buy what they want because it's better for them and it's sad????
Sad is when someone is so blindly brand loyal that can't see the forest through the trees........me thinks some people would buy a turd just because it has a blue oval on it (yes, I stole that from jschario....)
BS..........you have not driven the 270 HP Camry or even looked at the new styling. The thing has a 6 second 0-60 and it's a family car!!!
Even though Toy didn't have to do the major makeover, they did....there's a HUGE difference right there.
Your point about people on this board being passionate about their cars is mostly right on.............and that is EXACTLY why Ford cars pale in comparison right now............no passion. (with the only exception MAYBE being the Mustang)
I took the new 2007 Camry for a test drive and was impressed with it. Lots of cool features (bluetooth interface, etc.) It also gets great milage for a V6. Lots of power and performance. The styling is better than the previous generation also. I have to agree with you on this. In my opinion it is still a pretty ugly car, but so are Ford's offerings for the most part. Love the Mustang, don't get the 500 or the Focus. Ford could do a lot better, I agree. As a comsumer I like what the Japanese (and now Korean) car manufacturers are offering us. Let's be honest with ourselves for a minute. If it was just Ford, GM, and Chrysler, we would still be driving Pintos, Vegas, and K cars and paying 35k for them. Competitition is not all bad, there is a lot of good that comes with it. Hopefully Ford will rise to the challenge. I know I wouldn't trade my 2006 Superduty Ford for any other pickup, but those better improve also because in 5-10 years the competition will have better offerings in that market also. Tough world for manufacturers now. Good world for consumers though.

Even though I am biased towards Ford, I consider myself a very open minded individual.
Form your write up, I'm glad to see others not blinded by brand loyalty.
What's funny is the car I traded in for the Marauder was a Lexus....and the reason I got rid of it was because it was not a very spirited driver's car....nor did it pretend to be. However, I've never had a car that had the interior fit and finish nor have I ever been pampered as with that car...
On the other side is the Marauder which had a $10,000 premium over a Crown Vic for very little substance (I waited for the rebate and my D plan so I didn't pay near sticker)
I had high hopes for that car (Marauder) and Ford abandoned it like a red headed step child. While NEAR EVERYONE else is making fast/fun RWD cars, Ford comes to the plate with a re-bodied Mazda made in Mexico.
Some people have blind loyalty and some people are just blind.
I think Ford has good products but a bad image in the popular culture is all. There's nothing wrong with Ford's product line.
My old man is looking for a new touring car, and I took him around to all the stores. We test drove many and checked out many more. Really, we liked the Ford cars better than the new GM touring cars, such as the new Buicks, such as the Lucerne and the new Pontiacs. He's a Buick man going back decades too. The 500 was much easier to get into and out of for my old man, and the build quality was clearly superior. He can't stand the looks of the new Chryslers, says it's like a bull dog that got punched in the nose. There was only one car out of all of them (both domestic and import) that he liked better than the Ford/Mercury's and that was a BMW.
The new 06 super duty we have is clearly a better rig overall than the 03 Dodge it replaced, particularly in the build quality of the cab.
now you would keep saying that. The highest number off recalls for cars was Toyota. Oh I guess you didnt know that huh. Well the newsmedia is pretty good about playing Toyota up an not mentioning there weaknesses.
Toyota backs there product without hassle. Thats up to debate...
Ford will never get things turned around if peoples perceptions off Toyota are they can do no wrong an Ford cant compete.
Same goes for gm! Hardly ever a bad word on the news or in reviews.
My experience with many of those who rattle on with there smack about Ford, have in fact never owned one, let alone test driven one.
Yah, right. Please read your posts. And leave some work to Toyota fans.
Please direct me to anything I've stated that isn't true.........or are you just one of those who buys polished turds just because it has a blue oval on it???
Blind loyalty or blind???

Good estimate. I used to have Ford and I used to have Toyota before Ford. Are you blind and can not see right?
This is Ford forum and let people who own Ford to say what they think about Ford cars...
Does Ford really need to come out with a good car with the blue emblem? All the rice burner companies will always be better at good gas mileage cars. They have alot more experence at building a cars that get great gas mileage and have alot of power. Ford is good at making trucks, Mustangs, and Crown Vics. Niether of which are real good on gas, but are great cars. Forgien trucks? I havent seen a Nissan yet pulling same wieght as a Ford can. Honda wont ever compare to a domestic truck.

Well I took my old man on a road trip with his Buick and it got 34 mpg. Yes it did. It's a big American car. My ex-girl friend's Honda got 28mpg. Ford's V6 large cars do just as good as the Buick. One of my brothers had management over a small fleet of import economy cars, to be used as courtesy cars. He had to fuel them up every day. He kept meticulous records and those imports didn't get the kind of fuel economy claimed, albeit it was probably all city driving. My 350 RWHP Mustang with a holley double pumper can do 25 MPG out on the open road. Yes it can. It actually gets better milege at 85 mph than at 65 mph. I had a Toyoda 4x4 truck once, and it got 18MPG. The 22Re is great motor untill the head gasket goes at 120K, BTW. I had a 96 F150 4x4 with the 5.0L V8 that could get 19 mpg. Yes it did. Our 06 Super Duty can get 18mpg. Yes it does. I think there's a disparity about imports and what kind of milege they get compared to domestic vehichles in the collective imagination with the facts.

I wasnt ripping on Ford at all. I was just saying that Ford does not need a small car market, they need to focus on trucks and making them more gas efficient. Would'nt it be great to see f250's and f150's getting 20/30 mpg? I also dont believe the hipe about Toyota and Honda. I drove a Saturn up to recently, and got 30 to 35 mpg highway at heavy driving. I put 30,000 plus miles on it in one year and had no major problems. I would like to see a Toyota Camary do that.
Wow...lots of venom in here, so I'll be careful. I don't buy new vehicles anymore. Got tired of the ridiculous money loss. I have two fords in my driveway. A 1979 F150 4x4 Gas Hog that will pull down the house, and a 1993 Escort that gets 40+ mpg on the highway. (33mpg in town) I don't know about the newer offerings, but Ford can and has built reliable, economic small cars. The Escort is at nearly a quarter million miles on its first engine and transmission. (It's a stick...that helps) My friend has a 2000 Focus that I don't care for much. (24 mpg, but its an automatic...)
Never owned an import...so I can't compare, but I'll tell you that I've got one ford on both ends of this argument and both do their job well. The car is no good for hauling loads. The truck sucks down gas, it aint a commuter. Buy the vehicle that suits your need. Or buy two.

Many of us here, including myself, have been pleading for a turbodiesel F-150 (about 200hp/300ft-lb) that can get 25 mpg. It can be done if they will just go and do it.
I'll show you my dad's 1999 Camry. He drives 25-30K yearly, gets 30mpg, and it has never needed a major repair.
