351C Airgap intake

I want to swap out my old intake for something new with more streetable torque.

I had a Preformer but it was to whimpy...

I have a Weiand Excelerator which is a single plane intake.
I want to go to a dual plane intake for more down low power, and still make power at 6000+ RPM.

I was thinking of getting the Blue Thunder, I've heard great things about it through the whole power band. 1,500 -6,500 RPM's

Edelbrock just came out with the RPM Airgap for the 351C 2v. Many have been waiting for this intake to come out, but they only make it for the 2v.
I talked to the Tech guy at Edelbrock about port matching for the 4V. He said you can, but there's no need to. The way the runners come down and match to the head it works very well, and you'd only gain 250-300 RPM'S (that was just a guess on his part) but he said for my combo it would be better to just bolt it on and go.
That intake aslo is good for 1,500 - 6,500 RPM's

Now I'm hearing others talk about the Funnelweb made by Parker. This has an open plenum but the power band is like 3,500 to like 7,500 RPM's which I think is to much for the street. But some said it works great for them and the way the ports tapper down they build vilosity (sp?).

Here's my combo----
*56 f-100 3500 lbs
*351C bored .030, 4 bolt mains (not that it matters)
*4V heads with stud mounted roller rockers, stainless valves, 3 angle grind blah blah blah (I put a few $$$$ in to them to say the least)
*solid lift cam -- 226/235 @duration at .050 .540/.560 lift
cam red lines at 6,200 RPM's
*MSD 6a
*Mallory dist

I want the truck to run like a daily driver with allot of Umph!!!!!!
I run it around town, local cruises, road trips to car shows, and I like to take it to the track and open it up (my white knuckle ride).
Plus I love beating up on sport cars.... he he he

So, what would be the intake of choice?
I'd really like to hear some feed back on the Airgap and if anyones tried one or heard anything about them. And what your openion would be on port matching.
I need feed back ASAP, I'm ready to buy and have to have it ready for the next road trip.

i went from an edelbrock performer to the performer rpm air gap intake and it works great. Defintly seems better then the regular performer. the idea of it is the the ports where the air and fuel going in stays cooler, in theory its true but i have no way to really know if it does or does not.

Was that for a Windsor or Cleveland?

I know it's really popular on many street/strip motors of all makes, but haven't heard anything about it with a 351 Cleveland.

The 4V ports are higher than the 2V ports, so I am surprised that the Edelbrock Air-gap manifold will cover them. I would double check with Edelbrock on that information.
I wouldn't port the manifold you want to keep the air velocity high to prevent fuel drop-out. This will help the low RPM performance. Most of us 400 owners wish that Edelbrock would make an Air-gap, for the 400.
I am using a CHI-3V intake to match my CHI-3V heads on my 400. It is a high rise single plane, but I have no problem on the street, since I have EFI. The Parker Funnelweb would make a nice EFI conversion intake, but for a carb, you should stick with the Edelbrock Dual Plane intake.

The only dual plane intakes Edelbrock makes for a 351C 4V, is the Performer which is to whimpy for my mill (red lines at 5500). Then they have the Airgap that they say will work. But ? ? ? ?
I'd hate to throw down $340 just to see if it works, then be stuck with it.
I think I better just get the Blue Thunder that has a great reputation and is from an old Edelbrock design.
