I have a 04-f250 psd in 4X4. The axle u-joints are serviceable. However, my grease gun coupling (new one) will not seal enough to force the grease in. It seems that the shoulder of the u-joint combined with the short length of the zerk fitting does not allow for a good seal. The fitting seals on every other zerk fitting I put it on. it will not seal on either axle fitting.
Someone suggested a needle attachment for the insertion of the grease. I am thinking that if I have to remove the zerk fitting to use the needle attachment for service, why not install a slightly longer fitting?
