My brother has a 1940s ford dumptruck. It is sitting in his yard and he wants to get rid of it. He asked me to have my freind bring it to the scrap yard. It is rusted but not all the way through i dont think. Is it worth finding a conisor that wants a doner truck or if it isnt in good condition is it junk. He just wants it gone but it seems like a waist to me to crush an old truck like that.
Thanks dan
well........I have one of those sets of eyes that don't work quite right and everytime i see an old vehicle i fall in love wiht it. If there are parts of it that are salvageable ie;body panels and especially any trim go for it. the truck as a whole probably isn't worth much. because, and i am assuming here, that being a dumptruck it is a one-ton or bigger. in this case your market is very small, if you took of the cab(if its in savable condition) and other parts then it might be worthwhile
Im talking all of the parts that you would use if you were building a hot rod out of it. just my opinion though. they say that there is somehting wrong with me when it comes to old vehicles...........so who knows
