First I want to thank everyone who posts information and experiences on this site. I have a 99 F250SD with a 5.4 and at 127000mi, it spit a plug. After an estimate from a dealer of $3100.00 to repair it, I had my baby towed home and came straight to this site. To make a long story short, with your help and a Big Sert kit I saved $2400.00. The kit was around $350.00 and the rest was parts and towing. I have enough parts now to fix all eight cylinders should they decide to blow. Thank you again.
My next question is regarding purchasing a new F250SD with a 6.0. I do not like the new body style and need to wait around 10 months to before I can buy the truck. I want the 2006 body style and I am particular about options so I will need to order it. What is the last possible date to order a 2006 body style truck? Is the new style coming out in July of 2007 or Jan of 2008. The 6.0 motor vs the 6.4 is another concern with the change in diesel fuel. Either engine will be fine with me but I am partial to the 2006 6.0 because it is not a first year motor. Any information you guys can provide would be great.
Thank you for the reply. If I understand you correctly the last date for a 2006 body style is September 29, 2006. After that the new body style will start.
the '07 body style is the same as the '06. The style changes for the 2008 model year which will debut in early 2007. From the post above, it appears that the last day to order a F250/F350 is 9/29/06.
If you are buying a 6.0, I wouldn't be too concerned, there will be thousands on lots after the 9/29 order date.
