i've seen similar questions but i haven't been on for about a year. my '87 f250 w/302 fi stalls out after about 6-10 miles. if i let it sit for 20 minutes or so, it fires back up and runs fine. any suggestions? i replaced the relay switch and am considering the in-tank fuel pump next. i was told that the aftermarket pumps are junk and i should use a Ford manufactured pump. any help is appreciated.
Check the fuel pressure to determine if the fuel pumps are bad. Normally if they're bad, they're bad. They're not bad "sometimes."
I think these trucks still had some kind of module located close to the distributor or coil. I can't remember exactly what it's called but I'm sure that someone will chime in here and tell you exactly what it is. That "module" or whatever it is will get hot and stop working until the truck cools down.
