on my 88 f 350 when i put my brakes on it pulls to the left.new calipers and pads were put on last summer. i do notice the front passenger side rotor has some pitting in it.would you think it would be the rotor doing this?
Make sure all the hardware on the rear brakes is in working order, especially the self adjuster assembly and cable. How is the pedal; can you pump it up a bit or does it travel quite far before you have full stopping power?
To see if the pull is from the front or rear brakes, use the parking brake to perform a stop in a safe area. If there is no evidence of pulling when stopping with the parking brake only, the fault is in the front.
Check your right front brake hose for restriction or clogging. If a front brake line does not pass fluid properly, it causes that caliper to either delay engagement or to not engage at all resulting in a pull to the opposite side. There is a steel clamp that mounts the hose to the suspension that rusts inside the fitting and actually pinches the hose closed inside. This is often not visible to the eye. I've encountered this on both my F150 and on my 89 SHO.
Just ran through this on my 97 after thinking it was my rears and spending a bit of time on them... Had to replace them anyway since they were worn out.
Restricted flow was very noticible when attempting to bleed the line that was restricted.
