302, duals ?

ok i have noticed how diffrent trucks sound with dulas.

my truck is a 86 F-150 with flowtech headers , 2in pipe, glasspacks, no cats and there true duals. now it's loud but it dosnt come close to alot of (i hate t say it) chevys running around town. i mean these trucks sound mean ! tons of back pressure, keep the same great tone threw the rpm's and loud as all get out ! i have talked to some of them and they have true duals, stock manifolds, some have glass packs some dont, and they have cats. none running bigger than 2 1/4 pipe.

so i ust want to know why there duals are so loud ? i guess it has to do with the chevy 350's (thats what all of them have) and probley gearing in these trucks too ?

on the other hand i think my truck is the lodest ford in town beat by a dodge and 4 chevys.

aslo i'm looking for a way to ge tmy duals to sound better when under a low throttle. they sound great when i get on it or moderate throttle but i want better sound at low throttle too. is there anyways to do this. would tasking my glass packs off help ?

its probly whats in the motor itself, my 351w sounds allot nastier then a stock 351w with duals. And nastier then most chevys ive run into. course then again im pushing 12 to 1 compression hehe. 2 1/2 duals with glass packs

i suppose that maby stock chevy 350's run a higher compression that 302's do. but all these chevys are just stock motors, well internaly anyways.

some have like K&N filters and stuff but nothing big.

well stock they actualy should have a little more compression i would think. im not a chevy expert i like fords but my guess is they have a longer stroke which would up the compression compared to a stock 302. if that makes sense

I've heard (probably in this forum) that the differences in firing order between Fords, Chevys, and Dodges actually causes a difference in sound coming out the back end. Go figure.
