About four months ago, I had the automatic transmission rebuilt on my 1990 Ford Ranger.
It was a little tight at first, but smoothed out nicely, and has been running sweet ever since.
However, sometimes when I am slowly driving the side streets of town, I hear a "clank" sound when the tranny shifts.
I don't know if this 100-degree heartwave here in Missouri might figure in, but I'd sure like to get the opinion of some of you seasoned Ranger guys about this clank sound...It makes me nervous, especially after spending a grand to get the durn tranny rebuilt!
I checked the fluid level and it is normal, and nothing is leaking.
