Hi all,
Figured I'd pop in here first since I havent been here for a while. I have a 99 Ranger XLT 3.0L FF. I was driving home yesterday at a pretty good clip(about 75) and I noticed my speedometer flicker from 75 to 65 and right back up. About 10 seconds later, my ABS light popped on. After tapping the pedal to make sure I still had some brakes, I got off the exit. As I slowed down to maybe 30-35mph my speedometer cut out completely. As I started back out, the speedometer stayed bottomed out until I hit about 40mph then I worked again until I slowed down. I am baffled. Is this another ford electrical problem or am I looking at something a bit more than that. I havent done anything yet, since it was late when I got home and I havent been out yet today. I'm hoping its just a fuse, but I wanted to get some other thoughts on that. Thanx....Bob
OK.......I made the mistake of not doing a search on this subject before posting and now waiting for my KITA(kick in the rear). I'm heading to the ford dealer to pick up the ABS Speed Sensor before I even get started on the truck...lol
Yes it's the speed sensor on top of the rear diff. If you buy it it's probably under vehicle speed sensor or ABS speed sensor. Held on by a single 3/8" bolt. It's up on top, driver's side. Easy to replace.
