Well, you won't find a kit.

No 6 speed will bolt up, you would need to spend a lot of money on the tranny, and then a lot of money on the adapters.

There are two speed speeds that will bolt up. One is the M5OD, the other is the ZF found in heavier duty trucks.

The M5OD has overdrive and no granny low. It doesn't have the best reputation, but as long as you are aware of it's shortcomings, is a fine transmission. Mine has 160k on it and it still works great.

The ZF is much stronger and can take far more abuse. It has a granny low and overdrive.

There is some debate over how well a ZF would work with the 302's narrower power band. Some people say it's completely unsuited and won't work well at all, and other say it works fine. Both sides have reasonable arguments, and personal preference is a big factor.

You'll also need to swap pedal assemblies, cross members, and put in the master cylinder. Most people who do this swap find a dead truck suited for their project parked in someone's front yard and buy the truck for cheap. If you buy everything new, you'll end up spending a fortune on parts.

A car trans will be totally unsuited for the truck. The ratios are all wrong, and they likely have weaker bearings making the rotating mass lighter. It would be OK, but I wouldn't want to try to haul anything with it. The C5 and C6 (like what's in a mustang) are designed for light cars not heavy trucks.

A C5 is an automatic - you know that, right?

A C6 is a heavy duty tranny found in big cars and heavy duty trucks, pfogle.

Im about to replace the M5OD in my truck with a c6 out of a doner truck . From what i have heard the c6 is a very strong trans . I second that you should find a doner truck for your swap, would be much easier and cheaper .
