headlight conversion
I have been looking at converting my old seald beam headlights over to a to a newer style bulb for brighter light. I'm looking at the lights in LMC but don't know what type of bulb it uses. Has anybody done this to their truck, if so do you like the new lights and were their any problems involved. I know I need headlight relays so I don't burn up my switch. Also is their anyone else manufacturing these conversion lights.

I converted my '68 over to the ones out of LMC. They are WELL worth it! Going from the dim yellow light to bright white light has done wonders for nightime driving. I don't know what type of bulb it is.... I think you had a choice between white or the blue xenon-type ones. Be forwarned that the wiring harness that is sold through LMC is a bit on the tight side when you wire it in.... so pay attention to how you route the wires or you'll come up short (it was close for me anyway).

I replaced my old headlamps on my '69 F100 with modern halogen hadlamps from Napa Auto for about $6 each. No other changes were required. The lights are much brighter. Of course, this doesn't change the appearance of the headlamps, which is good, or bad, depending on your preference.
