well yesterday my timing chain skipped a tooth and now im going to replace it and im thinking of changing the cam and lifters as well.the truck is a 72 ford f250 with a fe 360.it has a edelbrock 600,stock 4 barrel intake, blackjack headers, dual 2 1/4 exhaust with 40 series flos, msd blaster ignition and duraspark distributor.the heads have probably 10,000 miles of use since rebuild and its a low compression motor, and 3.73 gears.oh and has adjustable rockers.i would like a torque cam as this is my daily driver and my hauler.what are u guys using and or what would u guys recommend.
Well I dont really just look at TQ when looking for a cam....But with that said....Something in the low to mid .500" range and keep your Duration down under 236*......because anything over that will just move you TQ range up further in the power band...and Obviously your looking for as much low end grunt as you can get with your low comp motor...
I just thought I would chime in..there are alot of guys in here that have built stump puller's....But I'am not one..I like to find a happy medium for my Occational driver...LOL... JMO... Good Luck... I'd like to see what the boys will choose for you..as most are Crane cam freaks...LOL..and I like the Comp Cam grind..or a custom grind..
