about 50% of the time it is the speed pickup on the rear axle pumpkin. crawl under the truck by drive shaft and reach on top to the front of axle housing. there is a plastic speed pickup with one screw anchor. it points at the ring gear and counts teeth. when it gets weak or dirty, it dont read right. many guys change the pickup, i have cleaned it and it will work for a month. i have change the rear alxe lube so it is cleaner and that works for 6 months--- just some info.
