have a 1990 F-250 4x4, 5.8L engine, fuel injected. drove to sisters house after unloading bed(stuff), engine would not start. cranks fine. have approx 40psi at fuel rail, drops to about 35 when cranking. using timming light have spark on all cylinders, use diods have firing to all injectors, have approx 110 psi compression. using timming light while cranking appears still in time, with crank. have tested module on distributor, good. really don't know where esle to go, any help would be great. please remember i am just a normal guy, keep the tech talk to a minimum and the tools basic, thanks. really want the help though.
If you're checking fuel pressure, timing, and compression, you're well ahead of most people with one post.
I would suspect something in the ignition system. A timing light won't tell you that all the cylinders are firing. I would test the coil (search here, the procedure has been posted). Also the pip sensor in the distributor might be bad - if you hold the spark plug end of one of the wires to the block, does it arc?
