Starting Problems
well i seem to have a strange problem that has got me confused. I own a f100 1965 with a 300 straight six, every time I try and start it it will not start, the starter motor and battery is 100% and I have checked obvious things like sparkplugs and points etc. The strange thing is that I can push start it or roll it down a hill and it will start firt time when I 'bump start' it. And when I try and start it with the key I can swing it till the battery goes flat.
Can anybody shed some light on the problem?

Starting Problems
You should have a wire on the starter solenoid marked I. It supplies voltage to the distributer during cranking. It sounds like you are not getting cranking voltage to the coil. Use a test light and put it on the = side of the coil. Have someone crank it over and see if you have any voltage. If not, check for voltage at the I terminal on the solenoid while it is cranking. It you have it, trace the wiring back to the coil and look for a bad wire, or run a new one from the I to the +.
If there is no voltage at the I terminal, replace the starter solenoid.
