I used to have the Rancho 5000's. I only got about 2 years out of the ones on the backe but the front lasted for about 5. When they were new they were good but constantly hauling heavy loads killed the back ones early. The 9000's are worth the extra money IMO. I've also found the Monroe sensa-trac to be a good all around shock.

I've had both the Monroe's and the Edelbrock. I get less lean in a turn with the Edelbrock.

[QUOTE=CharlyG]Here's a vote for Edelbrock IAS. Strictly on road, but a dream ride![/QUOTE

There's probably better shocks out there for general use, but for slide-in camper haulers like me the Rancho RS 9000 is the shock to get. I keep mine set at 2 or 3 (out of 5) for a smooth ride unloaded. Then when I load the camper, I set the rears at 5 to dampen that horrible side to side sway you get with a camper loaded. They really work great for sway reduction! However I wouldn't want to drive around with no load in the bed and the same level of compression dampening as a maxed out RS9000 shock. It's too harsh. That's the beauty of an adjustable shock - I may not get the best of both worlds but I do get the best compromise.

guess im gonna be the only one on here to say DR (Donahoe Racing). i have 8 in and 38's and they improved my ride by 100%. running duals in the front and singles in the rear. theyre clearcoated, a little procey but you get what you pay for.

Shocks, now thats a debate? What works for some is garbage to others. I'm on my third F250. Offroad for me is accessing the beach by way of access roads that can go for 6 miles bouncing between the seat and roof liner 3 or 4 times a week each way! Rancho last maybe 6 months till the bushings are completely gone with metal to metal contact. Invaders lasted 2 months. All these higher priced aftermarket stuff were returned for refund and the factory stuff put back in time and time again and worked better and lasted longer? Sears shocks lasted fairly well till I broke the piston shaft on the rear one. 108K on my 02 with still the factory and doing well but on long wheel travel I'm starting to hear the Donkey? Rancho's are out after 3 sets of misery, Invaders, the worse. I'm way over due and about to buy another set of factory stuff after very poor results with aftermarket stuff. trimman

Is the truck lifted or stock height??

I've run Rancho 9000s with my 4" lift.
And Bilstein 7100s and now the Donahoe Racing Signature Series Reservoirs with my 8.5" lift.

My vote would be for the Donahoe Racing Signatrue Series shocks as well. Valved for the SD, clear powdercoat on the shock to protect it, nitrosteel shafts etc..

Bilsteins and Kings are also very good shocks. I didn't care too much for the Rancho 9000s I had....
