i think he was being sarcastic. of course they work, because they are sold by autometer. (as long as it is not a pyro gauge in a green extended cab truck. )
but yeah i have seen them before, arent they pretty expensive? how many sending units does it need to measure that? how does it measure RWHP? does it have a sender with little rollers that you pull out of your bed and set your truck on to measure power? a tach lead ?
I had that one coming. By asking if they work I meant are they at all accurate. I should've asked that a little different I guess. I'm not really sure how they work just yet. Mine's on it's way home right now. My bro drives a dodge so I have to give him a little extra time to get here.
Oh and yeah it was pretty expensive but, all of the Cobalt series seems to be a little more more than the others. I just needed something to fill the fourth hole in my pillar. Anyways I'll let you know if it's worth a crap later.
Just an update I installed my new gauge and it's a blast! I got the cops called on me but, luckily I live in a small town and they knew it was me before they even got there. I still need to calibrate just a hair but it seems right on as far as I can tell. If anyone just feels like spending some money I would recommend this gauge.
I think it comes in the cobalt and the ultra-lite series only. I can measure 1/4 mile, 0-60, 60-0, static HP(real world HP), reaction time, man there's so much I still habe to figure out too. I know it shows the g-forces while driving and it's pretty cool. When I hit a curve it'll light up on on side then as you straighten up it'll go back to 0. It's pretty accurate too I watched my speedo while doing the 0-60 last night and it was right on. You can setthe roll out like they hace at tracks and everything. Oh well I'm off to play.
I have to weigh my truck first before those will be accurate. I put 7350lbs. in there for just a guestimate. After I figure out kinda what I was doing I came up with 15.83 1/4 mile. I only ran 3 1/4's though. I was trying to read the directions and gas on it at the same time. After I weigh my truck and master the gauge I'll post some #'s.
