Cool pics! Nice to see some amateur photos instead of the Pro, touched up Ford photos.
I do have to say, that it amazes me at how good Ford is at making an instrument cluster look so low tech and thrown together! The cluster, the steering wheel, the radio/ac/controls... for a $50,000 vehicle it is amazing that it is all so poorly laid out and low-tech looking. And the big "Expedition" name by the 1970's LED readout... just in case you forgot which car you were driving!
I am the biggest Ford fan... I just wish they would take a lesson from the foreign maker on ergonomics and estetics...
I wonder if those "new completely redesigned seats" are as comfortable as they say... they look like they took slabs of foam and just sewed on the leather.
The center cupholders are awkward to reach for since the center console is so high... and wrists do not bend that way... you have to come down at it from the top.
I do not mean to be complaining about it all... I just had very high hopes after waiting a year for this. I actually like the 06 interior much better! But I can't get black in 06. Explorer, here I come.
Nice pics. Shows some good angles that marketing doesn't always reveal.
After seeing them, wifey has pretty much eliminated the Expedition as her next vehicle. Can't say that I blame her. Someone needs to be shot for even thinking about putting chrome "cladding" on the top of the line rims.
I like it myself, would probably get the XLT with the lower black cladding. I wonder how much cargo space is behind the 3rd row with seat up on the EL model. I need the EL.
I wonder if I did the right thing by passing up the Excursion and waiting for this. Only time will tell I guess.
I actually really like the instrument panel and dash. The seats definitely don't look too comfortable. I hope they come out with a 3/4 ton so I can upgrade my Excursion eventually and still haul my toy hauler.
I like it!! Coming up on the end of my '03's lease, so, I may just go that way. Not crazy about 14 MPG tho...
Are those 18" wheels/tires? I imagine finding a decent ice/snow tire would be problematic if they are. I've been running studded "Winterforce" tires on my last few Expy's Nav's (all 17").
I think the new expeditions look awesome, however, I've seen them on the lots for about a month now and none on the road...just not selling around here for some reason...
I could not help myself. My wife took one look at the interior or the new 2007 and Poo Poo ' d the deal. She likes the 2006 interior, says it is MUCH more functional and you do not have the shift lever on the floor. Ford likes thier F150 interior too much I guess, becuase this is basiacally what the 2007 is.
I caught her looking through the "stylin concepts" web page and she informed me that the 2006 and 2007 Hood structure is EXACTLY the same. The ONLY difference in the front is is the main and lower grill. Well, now she has on order a fancy new grill for her 2006 expedition. Tell you the truth, it looks better than the 2007 grill and I got zero percent interest to boot.
I've seen the same.. i've seen them on the lot but only seen 1 on the road so far.. not sure what the trouble is.. I haven't checked out a sticker on it yet, that could be the trouble.. with the new Chevy Tahoes and GMC Yukons and Denali's it a tough market.. Those I have seen up close and personal, very very nice.. Better engine options. They also have a hefty price tag.
