Will a 84 cab and front clip fit on a 76 chassis? The body is shot on mine thought i might use the newer cab and front end. The 84 is a 250 the 76 is a 350. Thanks
It will fit in dimensional terms but ceratainly will not just bolt on like say a 65 or 72 will. So the qwik reply wuld be a NO. . . . You'd have to adapt/fabricate mount set ups, adapt late style Strg Col to your early style strg gear, and so forth, none of the wiring is even close . . . . It's a lot of work.
I pop 65s & 66s ont to 73-79 chassis all the time and they are virtually a bolt up deal as far as the cabs are concerned. In fact 65-79 are all virtually tha same and will hit & sit on OEM mounts no problem. 78 & 79 can get into wiring adaptations, 4X4s are not the same as 4X2s, but65-69 and all 70's cabs will interchange as far as bolting up into original holes, and model for model goes. Obviously you can't mix std, super and crew cabs around. . .
But Not So after 1980!

TowTruck1, did you git 'er figured out? I too am associated with the "towing disease", and am currently grabbing parts off of a '79 F250 donor truck (impound) for my '76 F150. I am not usuing the front clip. I want to put the grill and headlight assembly onto my '76, but the entire cab is in really good shape. Also, it has a running 460 complete, and the Aircond. unit is all there. I am in Oregon. Any help for you?
Oh yea, I also have a brand new front bumper for the '79 still in bubble wrap.
mopar, you are too far away to really do much good, it does sound good though. I do have another cab that I can use, but thought I might use the 84 to make my truck look newer. I am looking for the gearbox and winches for my holmes 480 bed if you might have some of them. Thanks, Tim
