Is this normal
Today i decided to check the oil in my truck. I have about 4000 miles since my last oil change i had it exactly on full. Now its not to add yet, but it look as if it burned a quart and a half of oil. It had the ccv mod if that matters. Is this normal for it to burn oil or is something wrong?

I agree, they are all a little different. I think this amount of comsumption is normal. The motors seem to use a little oil when they are approaching 5,000 miles. I started changing mine at 3,500 to 4,000 and never need to add any.

Im coming up on 5000 miles from my last oil change, and its the same level as it was when I first put it in. Also I switched to rotella 5w-40 this past change, since I bought the truck in March that has been the only time I have changed it.

Some trucks seem to consume less of different types of oil than others. I've heard of guys going back to 15w-40 and seeing less oil consumption, or even to other brands. I wont switch to 5w-40 because the truck loves the 15 and doesn't eat any of it...
