no power

I bought a 1992 f-150 about 3 weeks ago and it doesn't run right. The truck has no power, you have to put the accelerator on the floor the make it down shift. I know it needs a tune up, and the E.G.R. tube has a leak in it. The parts are ordered to fix it. But I don't think these things are the reason for no power. It is a 302 auto,4x4 with 3.55 gears. and 31 inch tires.I know this combo doesn't make for a race car,but I think it should have O.K. power.B.T.W. it only has 80,000 miles which is the reason I bought it, but my bronco with 177.000 run much better.

check plugs, wires, cap/rotor, clogged air filter, clogged exhaust/cat convertors.

low mileage means it sat a bunch and that is not always the best for a vehicle.

Good advice - every time I buy a vehicle, I do a complete tune-up. I change the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, breather filter, tranny fluid, rear end, etc., just because I have no idea when it was done last.

Then I check the timing, put a vacuum gauge on it, pull the codes and go from there.
