I pulled a big oppsssyy last weekend manuevering into a tight spot at my in-law's campsite. There was a platform on the passenger side and a small telephone pole on the driver side. My 27' camper was a wee bit harder to get in there than their pop up! {Can you see where this is going?} After mass jockeying I was on my final back-up to straighten it out. So, I'm watching outside, the mirror, and listening to my backers (all on the right side). Everything looked good till I heard this crunching, look up and my dang mirror was bent backwards against the pole! I took the mirror glass out and disassemebled it. It's not too bad, but the inner telescoping arm on the bottom arm was broken off. It still hangs on safely, but vibrates a bit when it's all the way out since only one arm is fully connected now.
My question is... how do I take the mirror off? I removed the three rubber plugs on the inner door and there's nuts behind the top and bottom hole. The center hole has some sort of three pronged clip or something on it. I removed the nuts, and pulled on the mirro, even tapped on the bolt studs, but it didn't budge. Can someone let me know how to remove the mirror from the door?
there are a total of 4 bolts. you have to remove the door panel to be able to get the power plug disconnected. removal of panel--remove the black triangle where the mirror bolts, remove the power window plate, 1 screw there, remove the reflector on the door panel, 1 screw there, lift straight up and the panel will come off.
was it the passenger side mirror? if it is, i have a telescoping mirror that just needs the mirrors... if you want it, its yours just pay the shipping....
No, unfortunately it was the drivers side! Man if only it was or you had the other side. The dealer said you have to buy the whole mirror assembly to get that stupid innner arm. Thanks for the offer though Junior323 that is very generous, and would've been perfect if it was the other side.
no problem MCN. i think I paid like 240 for my mirror. I tried buying only the glass, but the dealer said they didnt sell the glass, so I had to buy the whole thing
