I think the best pick up made was the 1979 F150 short bed 4x4 with the flareside bed and a 300, I do not know if it came with a granny low 4 speed. If it did this would be hard to beat.
the best ford trucks built were the rangers. ive owned 3 and they would take more abuse then most full sizes. plus you can put any motor just about in them, lift them, lower them, plus im short so i like being able to see out of the windshield real easy...lol
I have abused both my rangers, and will buy a new one when I can afford one. I told my son, one day I will own a truck that does not have to go to work with me. He told me that would never happen.
Ben. Could you pick at least one BEST, I am sure you have a favorite.
Ben, now that is what I am talking about.
That is my "second" choice, sort of speak.
I like the 1955 grille "V" and hood/roof lines the most.
And most of all the real flareside bed- running boards, chain on the tailgate, tailights and most of all wood bed floor - the real deal.
Lets see... My 88 F250 5.8L has 187,000 miles and is still going strong. My 97 F250 work truck has 125,000 miles and is still going strong. My new 06 PSD only has 4000 miles so I really can't say ITS the best. If I had to choose between these three I'd say the 97 is the best (5.8L) because it gets driven the hardest and just keeps on going.
