Engine swap

Having swapped a 300/6 (We call them The Canadian 6 in Oz) with a 302 Cleveland (they're the same as the 351 Clevo with a destroked crank and Hi compression close chamber heads) I can tell you that you will need to think of the following.
Perches for the front engine mounts. They are very different between the engines. The 240/300ci 6 is a long motor which sits back close to the firewall, it also hangs a fair way infront of the front axle. This also affects the next issue as the gearbox sits about 2 to 3" further back in the chassis rail when the Canadian 6 is used over a V8.
Manual or Auto? We never had any Canadian 6's with an auto, down in Oz which wasnt a problem for me because I wanted a manual. If your changing gearboxes as well as engines there is Gearbox mount/bellhousing/ tailshaft length issues to consider. The clevo shares the same bolt pattern with the Canadian 6 for the bellhousing and the flywheel so that swap is easier. Just gotta get the flywheel rebalanced for the V8.
You don't mention if your C6 has floor or column shift, if you keep the C6 with the 300, (assuming you can get a flexplate for it) you'll need to change /modify the linkages. Or if you change to a manual gearbox you'll need to cut the floor/trim to make allowance for the floor shift.
Exhaust, you might get away with adapting one of the existing exhausts if its a dual system, using a engine pipe for the 6. If not and your spending dollars, do it properly, a new exhaust system is in order.
Wiring. Once the physical aspect of the swap is over, modifying the wiring to suit is easy enough if you know what your doing or $$$'s if you have to pay some one else to do it.
Last but not least a place to do the job, which will take longer than you think.
Fun cost money, how hard do you want to laugh?
I think Mil1on is right, a donor truck is a good start.
