i put a thrush glass pack on my truck and the ran a 2 1/2'' pipe into it and then a 2 1/4" out and dumped it about a 12" from the back of the cab
when i originaly put it on i had a full exhaust and it was quite like the stock muffler but had a little bit more rumble with it dumping right behind the cab the exhaust is not to loud to be pulled over but when i open it up to 6000 people get outa the way
from my expereince, a glasspack on a 300 is horrific. at idle it sounded ok, just like every 300 with an exhaust but after being driven and getting on the throttle is had a very buzzy almost ricey sound. i had the shorted possible thrushpack from advance and took it right back.
on an older carburated 300 with a glasspack a friend had, it sounded like a wet fart...
i think 30 inchers sound great i have some on my 84 bronco 2 of them true duals the sound good i have heard one with 18 on there is sounded like a low flying airplane.
